Why me?

               "A teacher is one who makes himself progressively unnecessary."
(Thomas Carruthers)
What teachers make  - this short film is worth watching to understand our role of ...making a difference

        You may be wondering why you should be choosing me over other tutors. I will give some arguments, but I know for sure that, if you are meant to meet me, this will happen, without my persuasive efforts and despite your second thoughts. And when time is ripe, you will be confident enough to spread your wings on your own, which I will definitely encourage you to do.

What I think that might be of interest to you is that I am an experienced and highly qualified educator:
  • who advanced from a qualified teaching position in pre-higher education to an academic career, animated by the desire to become a specialist in English language and literature;
  • who is now trying to use personal skills and competencies in higher education, adult and professional learning to your benefit;
  • who intends to prove that private tuition from top to bottom (from academic to pre-primary levels) is as successful as the one from bottom-to-top.
I can really make all the difference in your training due to my:
  • Ownership of higher education credentials:
    • BA in Philology (English and French Language and Literature);
    • Master of Philosophy in Language and Communication Sciences;
    • and PhD in Philology, Bristish and American Literature (since 2007);
  • Teaching experience at all levels of education (with particular focus on EAP – English for Academic Purposes and ESP – English for Specific Purposes);
  • Tutoring  and supervising experience: advising students for the completion of a prescribed programme of studies at the undergraduate (bachelor's) or graduate level (master’s degree);
  • Contribution to the completion of degree-granting and pre-professional education programmes as well as to the awarding of education specialist degrees;
  • Good knowledge of the specific requirements for good performance in state examinations and membership in examination boards for both entrance and school leaving exams;
  • Scholarly research resulting in scientific publications on specialized English topics and participation in international manifestations organised by academic institutions.
